NJPC's Annual Conference "Families Uplifted: Empowering Families and Communities of Children - Congressman Ferguson, recipient of NJPC's 2004 Federal Government Award of Distinction, announced his co-sponsorship of the Keeping Families Together Act (HR3243/S.1704) at NJPC's Annual Conference "Families Uplifted: Empowering Families and Communities of Children with Emotional and Behavioral Challenges." The Act amends the Public Health Service Act to end the practice of parents giving legal custody of their children to state agencies for the sole purpose of obtaining mental health services for their children.
